The monster cat depicted on this item is based on the “bakeneko” or “nekomata” that appear in Japanese yokai folklore.
This cat symbolizes “grudges” or “anger” embodied by the power of spirits or vengeful ghosts. In “kaiga” (paintings of the strange) from the Edo period, it was often depicted together with wave or smoke motifs. Here, it suggests that the yokai-like existence of the monster cat has appeared in the present world from the other realm.
The ribbed crew neck gently wraps around the neckline. Ribbed knitting is also used on the cuffs and hem to enhance the fit and create a clean overall silhouette.

Material: 55% Acrylic + 45% Cotton
- Fabric Features: A blended fabric of acrylic and cotton is used. Made with fine-count high-quality yarn, it has a fine texture and is very pleasant to the touch. In addition, it is excellent in strength, making it durable and long-lasting.
- Recommended to dry clean, or machine wash cold on gentle cycle. Hang to dry.
